Description of an assignment to the painter:

Put all my memories in a painting in which symbolism and reality meet one another. Memories of the house where I was born en raised. With the image of the mines (South Limburg) in the background, the mines are not there anymore but I still like to think about them. My memories of an old castle and the canals where I used to play as a little boy. The tangible realistically reproduced with an eye for detail and in almost a fantasyworld reproduced with the vision on my memories. These are the ingredients for a painter to make a painting.
